Taking Important Test

To all readers of MyScribbles: Write-ups of an Afghan:

Just a notice to tell you that in the last few weeks I have been busy preparing for the SAT–the entrance examination for American universities. It’s now time to take it. The test is very, very important for my future as its result will determine whether or not I will be able to get into a U.S. college, and, subsequently, study journalism.

The test center is in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. It is going to take me a gruelling, 26-hour bus ride to get there. Things are not easy, but I will do my best.

Meanwhile, thank you all for putting up with the long gaps between posts. I shall start posting as soon as I return.

Peace.

Hey, good luck! I find it hard to imagine you will not pass SAT, even if I think IELTS is a better test.

Oh btw, you said something about a dead link leading to the old ivoice. That’s weird, do you know how I could fix that?

Good luck with your test, Ranya.

I always look forward to reading your blog and it doesn’t matter how long in between you write, it’s always good writing. The bus ride sounds awful but it’ll give you extra time to study. Good luck on your tests! I hope you pass them. 🙂

Best of luck to you. Here’s a little tip. You have studied, you are prepared. The single most important thing now is to go in there thinking positive. You WILL do well!

Glad to hear you are doing so well. I wish you the best of luck. Trust me you’ll get into a college here without having a perfect score. I am a perfect example of this anomily. Good luck.

You have shown you can write without the degree.

May your study provide you with the best of benefits.

All you do it criticise america on this site and now you want to use their education system?

    Hypocrite.

  16. 19 ninglun October 27, 2006 at 7:34 am

Even Americans criticise current American policy, Trollmeister, not to mention Australians like me. I think you have been very lax in your reading of this blog if you think that is all there is to it. Don’t you recognise an independent mind when you see one, or are you too locked into your prejudices and stereotypes? Don’t you think you are doing America a disservice by jumping on critics who are in fact well disposed to America, if not to the current regime? Why do you think Ahmad wants to go there rather than to, say, Saudi Arabia?
